Fairfield House Community ForumFairfield House was established by Alfred Health in 2000 to provide palliative and continuing care for people living with HIV/AIDS. With advances in HIV treatments, people are living longer, the population is growing and the needs of the HIV community changing.
As a consequence, Alfred Health proposed implementing some alternatives models of care at Fairfield House. Given the HIV community’s sense of connection to Fairfield House, a series of community consultations were undertaken. Effective Change facilitated the first community forum with around 50 members of the community, patients, family and community workers and Alfred Health. The consultation report identified the key themes and issues, and established the structure for subsequent consultations. |
