Module provides an overview of the organisation and the role of volunteers
within the organisation. It introduces the rights and responsibilities
of the organisation, its volunteers and its clients including the concept
of duty of care, privacy and confidentiality and grievance procedures.

Module covers communicating with older people and people with a disability.
It provides an introduction to the ageing process, disability awareness,
labelling, language and communication skills. As well, communication
strategies for specific disabilities are outlined.

Module provides an overview of the legal requirements for driving in
Victoria and road safety issues, specifically related to seatbelts,
speeding, alcohol, medication and fatigue.

Module provides volunteers with a practical understanding of occupational
health and safety; encouraging passenger independence; monitoring passenger
well being; assisting passengers who use mobility aids and specialist
equipment; dealing with accidents and emergencies; using a mobile phone
and infection control. The aim of the module is to ensure that the volunteers
undertake their work in a safe and appropriate manner.
